Work with Licuse Design

In a build that includes Design, open the Design workspace and create or open a local design project. Begin with one screen or flow, then inspect and revise the generated pages on the canvas. The local LDF document keeps the editable HTML, CSS, JavaScript and design settings; keep adjacent assets when moving a project.

AI generation uses a hosted service with server-selected models, separately from Code's BYOK settings. Selected design source, prompts and requested context can leave the device. Local editing and storage do not make generation offline. Availability depends on the installed build and service configuration.

The editing canvas does not execute page JavaScript. Use the separate sandboxed preview to inspect interactions. Viewport presets and device frames help review layout; they do not replace tests in real browsers and devices.

A folder export includes the design document, assets and standalone generated page files. It does not automatically integrate them into an application, connect data services or produce native mobile software. See the Design workflow and limits, implementation handoff and Design guides.

02

Install the right build

Open Downloads and choose Windows x64, macOS Apple Silicon/Intel or Linux x64. Read the release notes and verify the release checksums when appropriate. Current packages are beta; macOS is Preview. Signing/notarization is not yet available. Understand your operating system’s warning and the source of the installer before continuing.

Keep your project backups. When the IDE offers an update, review the release notes and use the update/download control; the published packages are provided through GitHub Releases.

03

Connect your own AI provider

  1. Sign in to Licuse, then run Licuse: Open Profile and Settings from the command palette.
  2. Open Models, choose OpenRouter, OpenAI or Anthropic, and enter that provider’s API key in the IDE. Use Save & test. Never paste the key into chat or this website.
  3. Use Add provider model and enter the exact provider model ID, supported context window, output limit and capabilities. Choose the model in chat.
  4. For the illustrated walkthrough, open Dashboard → BYOK guide. API usage is billed by the provider; a consumer chat subscription may not include API access.
04

Review what leaves your device

Local history and files remain local stores, but selected prompts, code context, attachments and tool results can be sent to an AI provider when you request AI help. Check sensitive files, selected context, search queries and URLs before using these features. A provider may have different retention rules for each endpoint.

The website’s Usage panel reports hosted activity. Your local BYOK history appears in the IDE’s Usage area. These are different datasets. See Data & providers for the processing paths and Privacy for rights and retention.

05

Review AI output and actions

Treat generated code and explanations as suggestions to verify. Inspect diffs and terminal commands, test changes and check dependencies/licences. AI can make errors or produce insecure code. Use the app’s permission settings; do not grant broad access or authorize destructive operations you do not understand.

Keep keys out of prompts and version control. Use only projects and data you are entitled to access. Do not rely on AI alone for decisions affecting life, safety, legal rights, health or finances.

06

Prohibited uses

Do not use Licuse services to design, build or improve missiles, weapons, explosives or weaponized systems, or to support violent operations. Malware, unauthorized access, fraud, exploitation of children, non-consensual intimate material, abusive surveillance and other harmful or unlawful uses are also prohibited. The complete Acceptable use policy is part of the service terms.

Reverse engineering of proprietary Licuse components and access-control circumvention are restricted as explained in the Terms. This does not override open-source licences or mandatory rights.

07

Manage your account, storage and billing

The dashboard lets you edit your display name, view hosted usage and access a BYOK guide. Email hello@licuse.com for cloud data access/export/deletion; remove local files and history using the IDE and your device’s storage controls. Uninstalling is not a complete deletion of all cloud accounts, local backups or independent provider records.

Hosted AI is not available for purchase. Join the hosted AI waitlist for availability updates. Use your provider’s own settings for BYOK billing and cancellation.
